1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share information and personal data obtained through your use of the internet sites, applications and online services (the “Services”) operated by or affiliated with Venkman Solutions SRL. It only covers information collected through the Services and via direct communications between you and VenueStory. By using the Services, you consent to the use of your information as described here.
We process your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For the purposes of EU data protection legislation, the data controller is Venkman Solutions SRL.
2. Information we automatically collect
We and our third-party service providers (including analytics providers) may automatically collect certain information from your device or browser when you interact with the Services (“Usage Data”): your IP address, device identifier, browser and device type, access time, the page you came from, the URL you go to next and the pages you access during your visit.
3. Information you choose to submit
You can visit the Services without revealing any information by which you could be identified. If you register for an account, you are required to provide certain personal data - for example your name, email address, telephone number and information about your business - along with billing information and credentials (“Personal Data”). We use your Personal Data to provide the Services, improve them, and contact you as described in this policy.
You may also choose to submit photos, menu content, descriptions, logos, and other visual materials (“User Content”). Personal Data, Usage Data and User Content are referred to collectively as “User Information”.
4. Information obtained from third parties
We may receive information about you from third parties such as subcontractors in technical, payment and delivery services, analytics providers and search information providers, subject to your agreements with them.
5. How we use the information
- To enable you to use our Services, create an account, and process your transactions;
- to provide customer service and respond to your questions, complaints or comments;
- to provide you with information, products or services you have requested;
- with your consent, to send you information about products or services we believe will interest you;
- for internal business purposes, such as improving our Services;
- to contact you with administrative communications and changes to our policies;
- to comply with regulatory and legal obligations.
VenueStory reserves the right to use screenshots of User Content and/or customer logos, excluding confidential or proprietary data, for marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use information collected through cookies and similar technologies to customise your visits, deliver relevant content and manage our business. Most browsers accept cookies by default; you can set your browser to refuse cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent, although some parts of the Services may then not function fully. Analytics
On this website we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to measure aggregate audience statistics - how many people visit, which pages they read and which links they follow. We use it only to understand and improve the site. We do not use it for advertising, ad personalisation or cross-site profiling, and those Google advertising features are switched off.
Your choice
Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are stored and we receive only anonymous, aggregated measurements that cannot identify you or your device. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.
Retention and transfers
Analytics data is retained for 14 months and is then deleted automatically. Google may process this data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards described in Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Information sharing
We will not sell, share or otherwise distribute your User Information to third parties except as provided in this policy.
Service providers. We may disclose User Information to third parties who provide services to us (e.g. hosting, analytics, payment processing). They may only use your User Information to the extent necessary to provide their services and must comply with appropriate security measures.
Legal. We may share User Information in response to court orders or legal process; to investigate or prevent illegal activities, fraud or threats to safety; to protect our legal rights or property; and with entities under common control with us.
Business transfers. If we go through a business transition (such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets), your User Information may be among the assets transferred. We will provide notice before your User Information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
8. Opting out of communications
You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you transactional and administrative emails related to the Services.
9. Your rights - accessing, modifying and deleting your data
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your Personal Data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity before granting access. If you feel you have not received a satisfactory response, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; in Belgium, the Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.
We may need to retain certain information for recordkeeping purposes or to complete transactions you began before requesting deletion, and we will retain Personal Data where required by law.
Deleting your account
You can delete your Venue Story account directly in the app: sign in, go to the “More” tab in the bottom menu, scroll all the way down and tap “Delete my account”. You can also submit a deletion request via our account deletion page, and a staff member will contact you on the next working day to confirm and proceed. All personal data, outlets, images, videos, settings and preferences are deleted after a retention period of 30 days from the day of deletion.
10. International transfers
Where your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
11. Data retention
Data is kept for the time necessary to provide the Services you request or as stated by the purposes outlined in this document. You may request that we suspend or remove your data at any time. Billing information is processed by PCI-compliant third-party payment providers.
12. Children
The Services are intended for a general audience and may not be used by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with information, they should contact us and we will delete such information as soon as reasonably practicable.
13. Data security
We have implemented commercially reasonable security measures to protect your Personal Data from loss, misuse or unauthorised access. However, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please notify us immediately.
14. Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy. Changes may be announced by email or by posting the revised policy on the Services. Please review this page periodically.
